Roma have placed Mason Greenwood at the top of their summer agenda, viewing the English forward as the ideal cornerstone for Gian Piero Gasperini’s revamped attack. With Tony D’Amico now installed as sporting director, the club has intensified its recruitment drive, opening preliminary talks with Greenwood’s representatives to outline a project in which he would play a central role.
Negotiations with Marseille, however, are proving complicated. Greenwood is under contract until 2029, and the French club reportedly value him at around €55 million, showing no willingness to lower their demands. Roma, by contrast, are exploring a structured proposal built around a €5 million paid loan, a €25 million purchase option and €10 million in guaranteed bonuses, bringing the potential package to roughly €40 million.
The coming weeks will determine whether the two sides can narrow the gap and turn Roma’s ambitious pursuit into a marquee signing for Gasperini’s new era.
