Ronaldo scored first-half goals in a comfortable 3-1 win away to Poland

Portugal's Group A1 leaders maintained their perfect start to the campaign with three victories on the road against Poland on Saturday, thanks to goals in the first half from Cristiano Ronaldo and Bernardo Silva. After 26 minutes, Silva gave Portugal the lead with a header from Bruno Fernandes. Eleven minutes later, captain Ronaldo doubled the advantage with his 133rd goal for his country, hitting the post with his initial attempt.

Poland's Piotr Zielinski scored a goal back in the 78th minute with a strong shot into the roof of the net, and in the last minutes, home defender Jan Bednarek scored an own goal. With nine points, Portugal leads League A Group One. Croatia, who defeated visiting Scotland 2-1 earlier on Saturday, is three points behind Portugal. Poland is in third place with three points, while the Scots have not yet earned any. Poland defeated Scotland 3-2 on the road in their opening match before losing 1-0 in Croatia.
