Salernitana beats Venezia by 2-1

With Federico Bonazzoli converting the penalty successfully and Simone Verdi’s goal Salernitana took out Venezia by 2-1 in Serie A. Salernitana with a few matches remaining in the season has managed to climb out of the relegation zone for the first time this season. A late surge from the club with four wins in five games played a big role in the team’s journey to the safety zone in the league.

Venezia did fight back in the match but David Okereke’s efforts found the post instead and Sepe was on target saving Mattia Caldara’s header. Thomas Henry but stayed on point in the 58th minute and secured a goal for Venezia but they later conceded to Verdi within 10 minutes and lost the chance to force a draw when Ethan Ampadu was sent off in the final minutes of the match with two yellow cards.
