Samu Omorodion targets return after successful knee surgery

The 21-year-old striker suffered a complete tear of his ACL on 9 February during Porto's 1-1 draw with Sporting in the Portuguese league.

The procedure, performed in Madrid by Dr Manuel Leyes, was completed without complications and "in direct coordination with, and under constant monitoring by, Porto's medical team," the club stated.

Omorodion will now return to northern Portugal to begin his recovery programme with the club's medical staff.

The injury rules him out for the remainder of Porto's season and means he will also miss the 2026 World Cup with Spain.
