Sancho shines in Dortmund homecoming

Jadon Sancho contributed an assist in Borussia Dortmund's 3-0 win over Darmstadt. Sancho later stated, "It was meant to be." The 23-year-old commemorated his loan transfer from Manchester United to Dortmund until the end of the season by setting up Marco Reus, with Julian Brandt and Youssoufa Moukoko also on target in Dortmund's first win in all competitions since defeating AC Milan in the Champions League at the end of November.

Dortmund had a 1-0 lead courtesy of an early Julian Brandt goal against Darmstadt in the Bundesliga when Sancho found Reus, who tapped in from close range. Sancho's assist was his ninth for Reus and his 64th overall for Dortmund. Sancho joined Dortmund as a 17-year-old in 2017 and stayed for four years, winning the German Cup in 2021 before going to United for £73 million.
