Scandal in Argentina. World champion accused of sexual abuse

The Argentine press advances that Gonzalo Montiel, author of the penalty that was worth Argentina's victory in the 2022 World Cup final, is being accused of sexual abuse.

According to information from the Argentine radio station Radio 10, the complaint was made by a model whose name was not revealed. Everything will have happened on January 1, 2019, during the birthday party that took place at the home of the current Sevilla footballer.

The prosecuting attorney granted an interview to the aforementioned radio station and gave some more details of the accusation to Gonzalo Montiel, stressing that Argentine justice is treating the case as "sexual abuse, aggravated by a group of people".

"The player who was denounced is Gonzalo Montiel, with whom the victim had a small relationship. This happened at Montiel's house", said lawyer Raquel Hermida.
