Pellissier confirmed his intention to hang up his boots at a Press conference on Friday.
“I didn’t make this decision in one day,” explained the 40-year-old. “The President didn’t stop trying to convince me, but I think it’s the right thing to do. It’s only right that a new cycle should begin”.
Pellissier joined Chievo from Torino all the way back in 2000 and has gone on to score 139 goals in 512 appearances for the Flying Donkeys, even playing with them in the Champions League twice during the 2006-07 campaign.
He netted 112 times in 454 Serie A games for the club and marked his only Italy cap with a goal in 2009.
