Skrtel confirmed that he will retire at the end of the season

After 20 years in the elite, Martin Skrtel, current Spartak Trnava player and former player of other clubs such as Zenit and Liverpool, announced that he will retire at the end of the season. His time as a Reds player was the longest: he played 320 games for the English club.

Martin Skrtel has announced that the time to retire will come at the end of the current season, after speculation for some time that injuries and being without a team would precipitate his retirement. The centre-back will leave behind a long career in European football after an indelible spell at Anfield.

Although he currently plays for Spartak Trnava, the football fan remembers him for his time at Liverpool. He played up to 320 games in the Reds' kit, scoring 18 goals and providing five assists. From 08-09 to 15-16 he enjoyed the 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.
