Sommer close to signing for Bayern

Bayern Munich have decided that Yann Sommer will be the German captain's replacement for Manuel Neuer after he broke his knee while skiing. The Germany goalkeeper will be out of action for several months due to injury.

Borussia Monchengladbach have given their all, but have finally made up their mind. According to specialized press, the Swiss player's team has given in and, if the economic conditions between the two teams are settled, he would be the Bavarian team's goalkeeper.

What was the reason after so much to-ing and fro-ing? Monchengladbach did not have the right player to cover his departure, but agreed with Montpellier goalkeeper Jonas Omlin to replace Sommer.
