Southampton held back Leicester 1-1

Leicester City dropped points against Southampton at St Marys. Southampton opened first against City by pushing the ball in the net in the 2nd minute with Walker-Peters' help but it was ruled offside. A few minutes later Minamino teed up Tella as well but was saved by Schmeichel. At the 10th minute, Vestergaard was shown the red card reducing Southampton to a 10 men squad for the rest of the match.

City later controlled possession with 85% but could not find ways to improve their score.  Southampton’s defense was strong and held back Leicester well, they later restored to long-range shorts to find a lead with Iheanacho and Maddison troubling McCarthy. Southampton later went ahead by scoring at the 60th minute with Ward-Prowse converting a penalty City then fought hard and found a leveler 8 minutes later.
