Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur battles against Fiorentina in their pursuit for Stuttgart player Nicolas Gonzalez. The Serie A side wants to add more depth to the Gennaro Gattuso’s squad this summer so that they could finish better than the 13th finish this season. But Fiorentina’s €22million plus €3m in add-ons offer was rejected by Stuttgart. The Bundesliga side is hoping to cash in on the player and is valued at €25m upfront with a further €4m in bonuses. Gonzalez scored six goal and two assists last season in 15 outings after he struggled with persistent muscular injuries.
He was the key player who helped Die Roten clinch promotion in 2019/20. Tottenham on the other hand is ready to meet Stuttgart’s demands and make him the first signing for Paulo Fonseca and Fabio Paratici. Gonzalez still has three more years remaining with the club but is hoping for the Tottenham deal to go through.
