Switzerland and Germany 1-1 draw

Next to the even more commanding center-back Antonio Rüdiger, who achieved the highest of all, was defender Nico Schlotterbeck. Standing before them both was Niclas Füllkrug, the stand-in. Two minutes into stoppage time, three Swiss opponents ringed the German trio in an attempt to hold onto a 1-0 advantage. Six sets of feet elevated simultaneously, competing to be the first to head the ball.

The game was won by Füllkrug, who expertly returned a cross from another replacement, David Raum, past Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommer and into the upper corner of the net. The score was tied at one. Even though Germany had already qualified for the round of 16 prior to Sunday's game, a draw seemed like a victory given the situation and maintained the momentum from their strong victories over Scotland and Hungary. While seeking a larger advantage and defending a goal from Dan Ndoye's deft volleyed effort in the 28th minute, Switzerland looked impressive.
