The most watched group stage match was between Argentina and Mexico

According to Nielsen and Adobe Analytics, the World Cup game between Argentina and Mexico attracted 9 million people across television and digital platforms, making it the most viewed group stage match in Spanish-language history. 

Spanish-language coverage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has attracted an average Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 2.07 million viewers over the course of the 13 days and 48 Group Stage matches across Telemundo, Universo, Peacock, and Telemundo streaming platforms combining television and digital viewers. This represents a 5% increase in viewership compared to the 2018 tournament, which attracted 1.97 million total viewers. Mexico is the most watched team at the World Cup, averaging 6 million people per game, followed by the USA with 3.9 million viewers, based on a three-game Group Stage viewership average.
