Thomas Tuchel confirmed as England's head coach

The Football Association has officially extended Thomas Tuchel’s tenure as England head coach through 2028. This deal underscores the governing body's unwavering faith in the German tactician as the squad approaches the FIFA World Cup in North America. The FA remains committed to ending a trophy drought spanning almost sixty years.

Appointed in October 2024 to replace Gareth Southgate, Tuchel immediately targeted securing a "second star" by winning the 2026 tournament. Since their 1966 victory, the men's team hasn't claimed major silverware. England dominated qualifying, winning all eight matches against opponents like Serbia and Albania. However, the path ahead looks significantly more difficult, potentially featuring knockout clashes against co-hosts Mexico and heavyweights Brazil.

Despite rumors linking Tuchel to Manchester United following Ruben Amorim’s dismissal, this contract solidifies his international commitment. Consequently, speculation about him joining Old Trafford has ceased, ensuring focus remains on delivering championship glory for the Three Lions.
