Tottenham Hotspur’s Guglielmo Vicario undergoes surgery on his ankle

Guglielmo Vicario, the goalkeeper for Tottenham Hotspur, had surgery after breaking his ankle during Saturday's 4-0 victory against Manchester City.  Spurs announced on Monday that the 28-year-old Italy international sustained the injury during the contest, despite playing the entire ninety minutes of the away match. Guglielmo Vicario, who joined Tottenham from Empoli in Italy in June 2023, has grown to be an important member of Ange Postecoglou's team.

Since moving to the Hotspur Way, the 28-year-old has only missed four games, none of which have been in the Premier League. Fraser Forster, a veteran who has filled in on all four occasions, is now probably going to join the side as his replacement. With 19 points, the North London team is currently sixth in the Premier League. On Thursday, they will visit Roma in the Europa League.
