United worked hard for the 2-1 win over Aston Villa

A last-minute save from Eric Bailly in stoppage time saved Manchester United two points at Old Trafford. It was a huge win for United in Premier League as they level on points with Liverpool at the top but stayed second on the basis of goal difference. The real title challenge will be settled in mid-January when they face Liverpool at Anfield, but before that, they will face Manchester City at Old Trafford to settle the Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

Anthony Martial scored the first goal for United in the 40th minute which was equalized by Bertrand Traore after 18 minutes giving Aston Villa some hope. At the 61st minute, the momentum of the game changed when Bruno Fernandes netted a penalty that was earned by Paul Pogba after Douglas Luiz challenged him.
