Venezuela and Mexico start well in the America's Cup

Victories for Venezuela and Mexico on the first day of group B of the 2024 America's Cup with the conquest of three precious points in the debut match.

Venezuela beat Ecuador 2-1 in a match marked by the expulsion of the Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia in the 22nd minute of the first half after a shock intervention that the referee had deemed only a yellow card (VAR support led to upon change of decision).

Ecuador still managed to take the lead with a goal by Sarmiento in the 40th minute, but in the second half "Vinotinto" overturned the result with goals by Cadiz in the 64th minute and Bello in the 74th minute. In the other match of the group, Mexico made its winning debut, beating Jamaica by a goal from Arteaga in the 69th minute.
