Vinicius Scores a Brace to Help Real Madrid 

In a 4-2 thumping of Osasuna on Saturday, Vinicius Junior netted twice to give Real Madrid a comfortable 10-point lead at the top of La Liga. Meanwhile, fading championship contenders Girona lost 1-0 at Getafe. This season, the Brazilian forward has been the star of Los Blancos, scoring eighteen goals in all competitions. Dani Carvajal and Brahim Diaz both scored goals in an exciting victory for Carlo Ancelotti's team.

Girona, on the other hand, has now lost four straight-away games after being completely destroyed by Yellu Santiago's first-half goal. Third position with a win on Sunday, Barcelona, who is now 11 points behind Madrid, can move up and leapfrog Girona when they play Atletico Madrid. Thanks to two goals from Gorka Guruzeta, Athletic Bilbao defeated Alaves 2-0 to go up to fourth place, above Atletico.
