West Ham started off 2021 with a win over Everton when Tomas Soucek netted a late goal for them to cement their win. The 24-year-old has been in good form at West Ham ever since he arrived a year earlier giving 4th placed Everton a knock to remember at Stanley Park. West Ham was reeling with the loss of goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to injury, David Martin had ultimately taken the mantle in Merseyside. He performed well for the club despite his first appearance for the club saving an OG by Craig Dawson and later defended well against the Toffees. West Ham was working hard right at the start to score.
A free-kick from Aaron Cresswell made Jordan Pickford work hard to save and a header from eight yards away by Pablo Fornals made him work even more. They were ultimately rewarded when Andriy Yarmolenko and Manuel Lanzini replaced Jarrod Bowen and Fornals and Soucek tried his luck at the goal.
