Will Wesley play for Aston Villa in the future?

Dean Smith’s claim to surplus requirements which resulted in Wesley Moraes’ loan to Club Brugge this summer, is now clouded with new rumors. Wesley entered Villa Park in a record transfer deal worth £22million back in 2019 to level up in the Premier League. With 17 goals already in the bag, Wesley joined the Lions in the Premier League then followed by two league title wins and two Belgian Super Cups at his first loan with Brugge.

Smith was practical in his comments saying Wesley was incompatible with Villa’s Premier league style, unlike Watkins and Ings. He also added that Keinan Davis’s return from injury is also a reason for the player’s loan. Therefore, Villa's all-time Premier League record goalscorer seems to bid farewell to the Villa Park despite his career opportunity with the Brazil national team made possible under Smith only months after joining the club.
