Boston Celtics 114-98 victory over the New York Knicks

Against the franchise that picked him, the Boston Celtics defeated the New York Knicks 114-98 on Monday night thanks to 35 points from Jayson Tatum, 22 from Jaylen Brown, and 21 from Kristaps Porzingis.

In the fourth quarter, Tatum scored 17 points to help Boston transform a 91-88 deficit into a 17-point advantage. He missed seven of his first eight shots at 3-point range, but in the last eight minutes, he made four of them in a row, including one on a 4-point play after the Knicks had trimmed the lead to three points. After starting the season 2-4, including a defeat to Boston in their first game, the Knicks had won three straight games. Julius Randle had 25 points and nine rebounds while Jalen Brunson scored 26 points. Due to a migraine problem, RJ Barrett was unable to play in the second night of a back-to-back in New York.
