Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads Oklahoma City in scoring, but perhaps more importantly, he hustles back on defense after a shot is blocked. This helped Oklahoma City defeat the New Orleans Pelicans and win the postseason series. The Thunder defeated the Pelicans 97-89 on Monday night to finish a four-game sweep of their first-round playoff series, led by Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
The game was decided in the fourth quarter when Gilgeous-Alexander tried a mid-range shot and the ball was knocked from him by Pelicans player Jose Alvarado. Against Jalen Williams of the Thunder, guard CJ McCollum of the Pelicans dribbled the opposite way after grabbing the ball during a two-on-one fast break. Williams scored 24 points in the end. Holmgren and Giddey each had 14 points. Holmgren had nine rebounds in addition.
