Brooklyn Nets plan on retiring Vince Carter's No. 15 jersey

According to Michael Scotto of HoopHype, the Brooklyn Nets will retire Vince Carter's No. 15 jersey at a ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on January 25, 2025. Between 2004 to 2009, Carter was a member of the Nets for five seasons; the team was the first in the NBA to retire his number.

Vince Carter's jersey will be retired by the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Barclays Center, at a ceremony. Joining Dražen Petrović, Jason Kidd, John Williamson, Bill Melchionni, Julius Erving, and Buck Williams as the eighth jersey retirement in team history is this one. Carter was a franchise symbol for the New Jersey Nets at the time and kept them competitive for years, even if the club never recreated the success of the early 2000s when they made back-to-back Finals in 2002 and 2003 with Carter on the team. With the squad, he was a member of three All-Star teams.
