Bruce Brown will continue to be a Raptors trade asset

Bruce Brown's $23 million club option is expected to be exercised by the Toronto Raptors, who want to utilize him as a trade asset in the upcoming summer. For the Raptors in 2023–24, Brown averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 62 games. He will remain under contract for $23 million as long as he exercises the option; following the 2024–25 season, he will become an unrestricted free agency.

On January 17, Brown was acquired by the Raptors from the Indiana Pacers as a part of the Pascal Siakam deal. At the 2024 NBA trade deadline, Toronto made an effort to move Brown, but they were unable to obtain a first-round selection in exchange. Furthermore, the Raptors intend to extend All-Star forward Scottie Barnes' contract this summer. Barnes' 2024–25 season is now scheduled to play on a $10.1 million club option; the following year, he will become a restricted free agent.
