The New York Knicks defeated the Washington Wizards 136-132 on Saturday night, extending their winning streak to seven games. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds, and Jalen Brunson scored nine of his season-high 55 points in overtime.
In what was the first overtime match for both sides, New York defeated Washington 17–13. Brunson made two jump shots and five free throws in overtime, scoring 42 points after the break. Malcolm Brogdon contributed 22 points and Justin Champagnie scored a career-high 31 points with 10 rebounds. Despite defeating the Hornets 113-110 on Thursday, the Wizards were unable to win their second consecutive game. Even with top scorer Jordan Poole's absence due to an injured left hip, Washington maintained a lead for most of the game but gave up 17 turnovers, which allowed New York to score 26 points.
