Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Collin Sexton harmed his knee during a game against the New York Knicks, an injury that would cost him the entire 2021-22 season. Sexton would undergo a subsequent medical procedure to fix a torn meniscus in his left knee which will keep him sidelined.
Cavs would suffer without their second-highest scorer with 16 points per game this season and 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in Cleveland's initial 11 games. The 22-year-old Sexton’s injury is a big blow to Cavs who were off to a good start this season but have hit a snag with injuries to the squad. Their new recruit Evan Mobley would miss a month with a hyper-extended elbow and are 9-8 in the season currently.
