Celtics open up a roster spot

The Celtics desperately look for several reinforcements at the center because Rob Williams needs to undergo knee surgery this week. The team made amends in their training camp schedules, acknowledging the injury development, by choosing to waive Bruno Caboclo.

Caboclo is an enthusiastic 26-year-old lad who was the No. 20 overall pick in the NBA Draft after being chosen by Toronto. He last participated on behalf of the Rockets in the NBA during the 2020-21 season before giving his time in leagues in France and Brazil. Caboclo has performed in four teams during his NBA career but hasn’t been able to set his feet anywhere for consistent minutes. The Celtics intended to have the 6-foot-8 forward contest for a roster spot in training camp but Williams’ bodily damage hindered their plans. The team is now sifting through probable center options to give more depth in the frontcourt while Williams is gone.
