After Donovan Mitchell's historic performance the night before, Cleveland appeared exhausted and listless for the majority of the game. However, they fought throughout and found a way in the fourth quarter to defeat the Phoenix Suns, 90-88, like they have for the majority of the season. The Cavaliers' initial nine attempts went wide. Their first field goal didn't come until 5:38 into the first quarter. They started off 0 of 14 from beyond the arc.
They scored just 33 points in the first half, their lowest point total of the season, on 28.9% shooting and 15.8% from beyond the arc. While the offence improved a little bit in the second half, the Cavaliers won the game on defence on Wednesday, sticking to their strengths. Phoenix was restricted to 88 points by Cleveland on 39.5% shooting and 35.7% from 3-point range.
