Los Angeles Clippers closed in the series gap by winning the Game 5 with a 116-102 win against Phoenix Suns. Paul George led Clippers’ resurrection after they entered the Western Conference finals on Monday with a 3-1 series deficit. Clippers stayed alive for one playoff match and are hanging on by a thread. George motivated the team with his postseason-career-best performance of 41 points and was well supported by Reggie Jackson as well.
Clippers would now take on Suns at home for Game 6 of the best-of-seven series on Wednesday. Cameron Johnson’s three-point effort had put Suns ahead as well with 98-94 and less than 7 minutes left on the clock but a late surge by Jackson which involved two 3-pointers and a dunk as well, extending the lead over Suns who could not catch up.
