Collins will remain in the starting lineup for San Antonio

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Zach Collins, a centre for the San Antonio Spurs, has agreed to a two-year, $35 million contract deal. Collins joins guards Devin Vassell and Tre Jones, who also received extensions before the 2023–24 season, as the third player from San Antonio to do so. Since joining the Spurs at the beginning of the 2021–22 season, when he only played 28 games, the 25-year-old centre has experienced many ankle ailments.

Collins played with the Portland Trail Blazers for his first four seasons before missing the whole 2020–21 season due to ankle surgery. In his second season, he played 77 games, which was a career high. Collins participated in four of the Spurs' five preseason games, scoring 14.3 points on 6.3 shots per game.
