Another injury blow to Heat as the hits keep on coming this season. Heat center Dewayne Dedmon has been ruled out for the next one or two weeks after picking up a Grade 1-plus MCL sprain in the left knee. Dedmon injured himself within five minutes of Thursday’s game against the Detroit Pistons. He fell on the floor and injured his knee and left for the locker room soon after not to return for the rest of the match.
Heat was forced to use Omer Yurtseven, KZ Okpala, and Udonis Haslem for the rest of the match. Heat was already struggling without Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler and the 7-foot center was brought in as a replacement for Adebayo. He was averaging 9.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 0.7 blocks on 58.7 percent shooting in the 11 games he has started and now Heat would have to rely on Yurtseven.
