Edmond Sumner sidelined indefinitely due to injury

Indiana Pacers guard Edmond Sumner tore his Achilles tendon on Thursday in the off-season workout and has been sidelined indefinitely at the moment. Joining Pacers as the 2017 NBA Draft out of Xavier University in the second round, in the first year he had just one appearance.

But Sumner has since played a bigger role in the Pacers squad, last season he contested in 53 matches of which he started 24 and averaged 7.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game, all the while shooting 52.5% from the field and 39.8% from the 3-point range. The 25-year-old’s injury forces Pacers into a corner with just three point guards on their squad for the next season in the form of Malcolm Brogdon, T.J. McConnell, and Duane Washington Jr.
