A resilient Hawks forced a second straight comeback to beat the top seed in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. Atlanta leads the series by 3-2 and has proved they would put up a big fight for the finals. Philadelphia 76ers lead by 26 points but Hawks reduced the lead to win by 109-106 in Game 5 of the second round of NBA playoffs. Hawks were dominant in the fourth quarter and forced a win.
In the third quarter, while Sixers stars were on the bench, Hawks chipped away their lead and entered the last quarter with 87-69, thereafter they held Philadelphia to 19 runs and scored 40 big ones to seal the win. Veteran guard Lou Williams shined in the end with 13 points on a 6-for-8 shooting. While Embiid was on fire once again with 39 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks but could not lead Sixers to a win in the final moment.
