On Wednesday night, the Atlanta Hawks hosted the Washington Wizards at home. The Hawks were hoping to extend their winning run against a division rival who had made some roster changes over the summer after winning their previous two games. Dejounte Murray stayed hot after scoring 41 points in the previous game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, hitting a three-pointer to open the action.
The Hawks were ahead 59-51 at the break. The Hawks didn't let up and kept up their pressure on the Wizards, opening the third quarter with a 14-point advantage. Up until the very end, when the Washington attempted to rally, the Hawks controlled the entire fourth quarter; but, the gap was too great. Trae Young and De'Andre Hunter finished with 23 points apiece. Seven Hawks players achieved double digits overall. Next, the Hawks will travel to New Orleans to play the Pelicans.
