Dallas Mavericks and Jalen Brunson are all set to sign a deal before his current contract expires on June 30. Brunson would be retained by Mavs before he could join the free agency, but that has not stopped franchises to try to lure the player away. New York Knicks have been a fan of Brunson for a long time now and are in the process of creating some salary space to offer a contract worth $25 million per year to Brunson.
The player wants to be part of the winning group and under Jason Kidd, Mavs seem to be heading in that direction. This season Luka Doncic and the team went all the way to the Western Conference finals before they were eliminated and the Mavs group considers Brunson to be the team's second-best player next to Doncic.
