The Boston Celtics suffered a painful end to last season, losing to the New York Knicks in the second round of the playoffs and seeing superstar Jayson Tatum tear his Achilles. Initially expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2025-26 season, Tatum stunned fans by returning to the court in a limited capacity just four months after the injury. At 27, his recovery has been remarkably swift, fueled by intense six-day-a-week rehab sessions.
NBA reporter Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report shared encouraging news, noting that there is “buzz” Tatum could make a return as early as March. While he will still miss a significant portion of the season, an early comeback would allow him to regain rhythm before the playoffs. Tatum himself has not ruled out a return next season and remains focused on regaining full fitness from one of sports’ most serious injuries.
