Josh Green hopeful for contract extension with Mavericks

If Green and the Mavericks cannot reach an agreement on a rookie scale deal by October 23, Green will be a restricted free agency next summer. Last year, Green played in 60 games for the Mavericks. He shot 53.7% from the field, 40.2% from outside the arc, and 72.3% from the line for 9.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. In 166 games with the Mavericks, Green has averaged 5.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. With the 18th overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draught, Dallas selected him out of Arizona. According to StatMuse, the Mavericks are 91-75 when Green plays.

In an interview with ESPN's Olgun Uluc, Green expressed his desire to extend his deal with the Mavericks. The guard, who is 22 years old, is presently representing Australia in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
