King's supporters have high hopes that Sacramento's new club has playoff potential going into the 2022–23 NBA season with a remade roster and a new head coach guiding the way. Malik Monk remarked that the Sacramento Kings are gradually converting that potential into reality following the Kings' 110-101 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday at Golden 1 Center.
"Man, we're real. We're going to be pushed so hard by [Kings coach] Mike [Brown] that we can't help but be legitimate. There are numerous factors involved. We have a lot of young players on our team that need to get to the playoffs. We all have the same objective yet a lot of us haven't been there yet. The Kings, who had a record of 13-9 after 22 games, faced a Bulls club that was stronger than what its record (9-14) would suggest.
