Encouraged by their team's growth over the last two seasons—largely due to Jalen Brunson's rise to prominence as a genuine MVP contender—the New York Knicks have made the decision to fully commit this offseason. After giving up a ton of draft money to get Mikal Bridges, they executed a breathtaking blockbuster deal for Karl-Anthony Towns last week. However, the Knicks might not be done with their transactions just yet.
According to Kris Pursiainen of Ballislife, the Knicks have allegedly held "internal discussions" over a possible deal for Memphis Grizzlies guard Marcus Smart using whatever trade assets they may still have. Pursiainen claims that although the Knicks had previously expressed "rumored interest" in dealing for Smart, "no deal is imminent." In a potential trade, Smart shouldn't come at too high of a cost, but the Grizzlies should be forced to consider parting with the seasoned guard for at least a first-round choice.
