LeBron departed the game in the fourth quarter with just over five minutes remaining, pulling at his left groin area as he went carefully to the locker room. Even though James had it going to the tune of a 30-point night, it wasn't enough to upset the Clippers, who won 114-101. James didn't stumble or take a very uncomfortable stride or landing, so the injury wasn't immediately obvious when it happened. However, the Lakers broadcast did capture James' initial indication that anything was wrong after being fouled on a post fadeaway.
LeBron's absence is disastrous for a Lakers team that can't win without him on the court, and the 2-9 Lakers would be further and further away from any chance of saving this season if James went out for an extended period of time.
