Desmond Bane scored 31 points and Xavier Tillman added 20. Memphis had a lead of up to 23 points in the third quarter before Orlando came back strongly in the fourth. Jaren Jackson Jr. contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds for Memphis. Dillon Brooks added 13 points, and Luke Kennard scored 16. Franz Wagner scored 25 points, but Orlando's three-game winning streak was ended. Wendell Carter Jr. had 14 points, Goga Bitadze had 13, Markelle Fultz had 11, and Cole Anthony had 10. Paolo Banchero had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.

After the victory, Memphis jumped the Sacramento Kings by three games for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference playoff race. Star player Ja Morant, who is classified as day-to-day due to right thigh pain, did not play for the Grizzlies.
