The Miami Heat, who were playing without a star, defeated the Atlanta Hawks 117-109 on Saturday night. Bam Adebayo scored 26 points and pulled down 17 rebounds, while youngster Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored a career-high 20 points. It was the Heat's fourth straight victory.
After top scorer Tyler Herro injured his right ankle during Wednesday night's 108-102 victory over Memphis, Miami was playing its first game. Herro will likely be out for a minimum of two weeks. Jimmy Butler, another prolific scorer, was out from the game versus Atlanta due to personal matters. A season high of 17 points each were scored by Josh Richardson and Kyle Lowry. In his season debut, Duncan Robinson scored 11 points. Seven points went to Kevin Love. In his third start against Memphis, Jaquez nearly doubled his previous best of 11 points.
