In Game 6 of their first-round series, New York defeated the Philadelphia 76ers on the road on Thursday, 118-115. Jalen Brunson and company led 36–22 at the half after jumping out to an early lead. At home, though, Philadelphia didn't give up easily. Leading center Joel Embiid's team, Philadelphia, finished the first half with a 43–18 surge to take a 54–51 advantage into the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, New York overcame Philadelphia with a 35-32 edge after the teams were knotted at 83-83 at the end of the third quarter. Philadelphia was behind 109-101, but they played close to the finish before their attempt at a comeback was unsuccessful. With 41 points and 12 assists on 13 of 27 shots, Brunson led the Knicks. With Tom Thibodeau employing a seven-man rotation, all five of the Knicks' starters scored more than ten points.
