Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic lifts the award for NBA's Most Valuable Player for the 2021-22 season. This season the player has averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists this season. The Serbian lifted the MVP award last season as well and becomes the second international player to win the award consecutively after Greek international Giannis Antetokounmpo who won the award in 2019 and 2020.
Jokic’s award also marks the first time in the league that two international players have lifted the MVP award for four back-to-back seasons. Nuggets head coach Michael Malone was impressed by Jokic and shared "He's consistently improved his game, he's consistently proven people wrong when they doubt him and he's consistently the best player on the floor night in and night out."
