Denver Nuggets needed a consistent big man to support MVP Nikola Jokić if they want to play for the NBA title this season and former Kentucky Wildcats center DeMarcus Cousins fills just that role. Nuggets had previously signed Cousins with a 10-day contract and this season he had already played in 17 games while with Nuggets he was offered eight outings where he averaged 6.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
Cousins once upon a time was counted among the top-three center in the NBA but after a series of injuries, the big man’s career had taken a hit. His stint with Nuggets could be a start to a comeback, at his best Cousins averaged 26.9 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Denver is placed 5th in the Western Conference currently and hopes to go all the way to playoffs giving Cousins more time to prove his worth.
