Payton II arrives at Portland for $28M

Former Golden State Warriors’ player Gary Payton II would be seen with the Portland Trail Blazers squad from next season onwards. Gary Payton II consented to a $28 million, three-year contract with the franchise. Payton II would be playing alongside Damian Lillard and lottery pick Shaedon Sharpe. Payton helped the Warriors when they needed it direly, getting back from a messed up elbow he contributed in the NBA Finals against Boston that the Warriors dominated in six matches.

He averaged 7.1 points and 3.5 rebounds over a career-high 71 games making it Payton's most memorable season playing consistently. Now his Warriors deal him to Portland for $28M as they offload some of the players this offseason and make a way in the wage bill.
