The former guard for the Washington Wizards then disclosed a major reason for joining the Western Conference squad.
The addition of Jones to a one-year, $3.3 million contract has strengthened the roster of the Phoenix Suns. The squad needed a real floor general, and this move fills that requirement after the point guard position proved to be inconsistent in the previous campaign. Jones is considered as one of the league's top facilitators, having played with the Washington Wizards for the previous four seasons. In addition to his amazing assist-to-turnover ratio of 7.35—the highest in the NBA since individual turnovers were first tracked—he finished the previous season with an average of 12.0 points and 7.3 assists per game. With Devin Booker and Kevin Durant leading the way, the Suns are aiming for a lengthy playoff run and perhaps even a title.
