Rudy Gay, a former Memphis Grizzlies forward, has spent the last several seasons with the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. His tenure saw him contend for the playoffs and then assist in offering leadership to the team's younger players the next year when the team's greatest talents were moved away. He was an admirable Jazz player who helped the team improve by being a trade asset for the Atlanta Hawks over the offseason. Gay was eventually moved to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he was dismissed.
Gay is still unsigned at the age of 37, with little to no interest from other organizations. Gay was a respectable forward until his mid-30s, he's fallen down significantly and isn't the same player he once was. In the last four years, his field goal percentage from inside the three-point line has dropped 124 points. His three-point attempt has been blocked 148 times. It might be unlikely that a team would not bet on the player and sign him on.
