On Saturday, the Kings announced who would be on their roster for their home opener against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday (at Golden 1 Center). Forwards KZ Okpala, Chima Moneke, and guard Matthew Dellavedova made the cut, with Jeriah Horne, Sam Merrill, and Alex O'Connell being the last players the Kings waived to reach 15, excluding the two Two-Way Players. Kent Bazemore and Quinn Cook were waived earlier in the week, before Sacramento's last preseason game against the Lakers.
Besides Dellavedova, Davis, Fox, Mitchell, Monk, and Len, De'Aaron Fox, Kemon Huerter, Richaun Holmes, Trey Lyles, and Keegan Murray round out the guards. Okpala and Moneke are joined by Barnes, Holmes, Lyles, Murray, and Lyden. The team's centers are Len, Metu, and Sabonis. Brown emphasised the importance of defence and retaining Okpala, Moneke, and Dellavedova in keeping with his defensive mentality.
