Toronto Raptors continued their impressive opening to the season with a 112-102 victory over the Washington Wizards, combining defensive intensity with strong performances from their leading players.
Scottie Barnes spearheaded the effort, finishing with 28 points and 14 rebounds. RJ Barrett added 23 points, while Kawhi Leonard contributed 16. Toronto also forced 23 turnovers, maintaining the defensive pressure that proved effective in its season opener against Chicago.
Washington struggled to keep pace despite Trae Young’s 22 points and 12 assists. Rookie Tre Johnson scored 20, but Anthony Davis endured a difficult outing, managing just nine points on 3-of-12 shooting after his 34-point debut.
The Raptors established their advantage through superior work inside, winning offensive rebounds 18-6 and outscoring Washington 52-32 in the paint.
Although the Wizards threatened a comeback in the third quarter, Toronto remained composed down the stretch, securing its second consecutive victory without surrendering control of the contest.
